So the hero faced this stage of Ordeal, wherein she had to go back to the water just to cheer a boy who lost a family. Since all of the people in the area are victims of tsunami, they are still in trauma from what had happened. Near the middle of the story, the hero in the film felt for those who lost and decided to cheer up a kid by going back to the water. This is where she went with her new set of allies who also serves to help those hopes are lost. The part of the journey called Approach wherein she went to help victims of a tsunami wave where people lost their loved ones and homes. She said “What ever happened to I can do all things? Why did this happen? What am I supposed to do now?” This is when the hero finally decided to quit as she no longer believes she surf like she used to, which is why she gave her surfboards away and decided not to go back to the water ever again. The enemy on the film, who is another surfer still treated her as a competition. She went through with this competition but was still tested as she was just swept by the waves and ranking 6th place on the competition. Then goes this stage where the hero in this film crossed the threshold by still surfing even with just one arm.
In this film this mentor was her family who helped her train and surf with just one arm. Just what every story has, this hero in the film always meets a mentor who would help her to reach her journey. The day came when she realized that she can no longer surf and decided to turn away from her adventure of joining the surf competition which is the stage called refusal of the call where she expressed her uncertainty ahead of her.
Her day to day routine changed, doing everything with one arm, her faith was shaken, having her left arm off changed everything. Despite all this, she is still dreaming to be on her surfboard riding the waves and still hoping she can join the competition. Questioning the unknown, asking whether she can still do what she loved the most. When the protagonist was trying to catch a wave, as soon as she dangles her left arm a shark unexpected attacked her which caused her left arm to be bitten. Until the day the shark attack happened, this is when the call to adventure stage happen on this hero’s journey. This is her ordinary world, where everything seems to be going smoothly.

In the film, the protagonist was just simply living a passionate life. It is a true story of a woman named Bethany Hamilton and her life as a surfer after a terrible shark attack. A great example of this is a film made by Sean McNaara. Every great story always starts with the protagonist which is “The Hero” of any story. Often seen in films and books people read, there’s always this hero which will always go through the same journey.
